October

It has been a very long time since I’ve posted anything straight from my own heart and soul. Between dissertations and field training, writing papers, editing and a full course load, my wires are wearing thin. But the challenge for the month of October, in two thousand thirteen is for me to post something, from me, everyday. Not regurgitated news like I’ve been doing.

*honesty moment*

I’m sitting in a dimly lit journalism lab, completing notes for a presentation on Common Core for my class. I’m making a triumphant attempt to get accepted into a masters program somewhere outside of Louisiana, although I have to psyche myself out of self-doubt and the feeling that I’d be much better off staying put at the state’s flagship school here in Baton Rouge where I currently ‘get my shine on’. It’s a great university with a great Master’s program. So why leave?

I need an excuse to live somewhere else for a while.

Basically.

I just moved into a new house. It’s absolutely beautiful. Every time I pull into the driveway, I sit in the garage and say “Thank you, Lord, for how blessed I am.” Then I get out of the car so I won’t accidentally poison myself.

Life is good. Money is good. Family is good. God is good. No, God is great. Things are better than they have been for me.

Although, I’ve been having this nagging feeling that maybe someone is trying to tell me something. I can’t explain it but, it’s just, strange. Recently I’ve been , almost getting into car accidents and almost running into a ditch. Could it be that I simply need to pay better attention to the road or that I need to seriously take a break and get some rest?

Maybe I’m just paranoid but the fact that it is raining cats and dogs outside right now isn’t settling. Nor is the fact that after I take this test, I’m heading home in the aforementioned rain.

Tis’ all well.

xoxo

P.S: I’m not so sure I’m over the ‘pumpkin spice’ craze that is October at Starbucks. Oh and be prepared to hear less of me and get more food pics. Trader Joe’s is opening in Acadian Village. Jesus love me, this I know.
